JB, Muluzi, Chakwera Call for Economic Independence

Former President Joyce Banda, UDF leader Bakili Muluzi and President Lazarus Chakwera have all called for Malawi's economic independence, urging the country to reduce reliance on foreign aid and grow domestic production.

Speaking at separate engagements, the leaders emphasised value addition, agriculture and manufacturing as the pillars of a self-reliant economy.
